trains and mama, dada

first of all - came across this blog "blog of the unnecessary quotation marks". - hilarious!!

tonight griffin and i went for a bike ride...about 12 miles I think? we met up with dina and jes, and of course had to stop at dq, since it was miracle day...it's for the children, yo.

speaking of which....when i'm walking around downtown, i get numerous requests daily to stop and listen to someones speech, or sign a petition or donate money. they've gotten a bit more pushy and have started saying, "do you have a minute to save the children?"
ummm...no. i don't.
when i tell them no, they'll say, "god bless, the children thank you".

today someone asked me if i had a moment "for the gays".

anyway, dan left this a.m. for fishing up in da UP. he was going to pick up his dad, then head to michigan for an evening with extended family. he's looking forward to spending a weekend with his pops.
griffin and i will definitely miss him, but we will keep busy. tomorrow night we are babysitting for friends pete and kim (well, their son, burke anyway)
saturday we may do another long bike ride, then probably hanging at home that night.
sunday is a deck party at phil and jes's place. they just built a new deck and patio.

so each night when griffin goes to bed, we ask him what he is going to dream about. his answer is always, "trains and mama & daddy"
each morning we ask what he ended up dreaming about, and he says the same thing.
it's 10:45 p.m. i just heard him stirring in his sleep through the monitor (while i'm busy watching chelsea lately, of course). he was saying, "trains and mama dada" awww. he's thinking about me when he sleeps. then there was a loud rustle and he yelled out, "mama makes mickey mouse pancakes, i dream about that"

i did make him pancakes for dinner...shaped like the mouse. awwww...he is going to dream about that. can he be any sweeter?

wouldn't it be rad if you could decide what you wanted to dream about? (and i wouldn't be choosing a mouse with a super feminine voice....maybe donald duck...he doesn't wear any pants....)
